“Spansk 8-10” books

A series of books for secondary school students learning Spanish. My challenge on this project was to make illustrations that appealed to an older audience than I was used to. For our characters, we chose Don Quixote from the famous Spanish novel, and the skeleton Catrina from the Mexican Day of the Dead. Except for the authors, the production was entirely in-house, so I got to work closely with the editor and designer to come up with ideas. Each chapter has a big illustration, often featuring places in Spanish-speaking countries.

“Les og Øv 1-4” booklets

Our goal was to make a new and fresh alternative to the old “Akka, Bakka” series that schools were still using. They should be both educational and entertaining, with modern design and fun art. I worked in-house as an illustrator on this project, and often discussed ideas with the author/editor and designer. I made a story for the characters, and wrote short 1-4 page comics for each booklet.

“Ut på tur”

A fun little book for children in kindergarden, about a trip to the forest. I wanted to make the drawings cute, fun and tactile, so I used colored pencils, art tools children use every day. I then scanned the drawings and did a little color correction to finish them up.

Illustrations for CGP Grey

I’ve made illustrations for several videos by CGP Grey. “Lord of the Rings Mythology Explained” is the most watched, with over 11 million views on Youtube. I drew small portraits of lots of characters and races, and being a Tolkien fan this overlapped with my interests as well.
